Mr Allars,
aged 40, joined Prelude Technology in 1990. Trained in chemistry
and biochemistry he spent 10 years working in the bioscience
industry in international marketing. Since joining Prelude
Technology Andrew has been closely involved in several start-up
biotech companies such as Danby Medical Limited, Peptide Therapeutics
Group plc, Core Technologies Limited and Quadrant Healthcare
plc.
Prelude
is an investment trust set up in early 1997 seeking capital
growth over the longer term through early investment in unquoted
high growth, technology based businesses. The Company is advised
by the team that managed the Prelude Fund II, whose portfolio
of investments produced a compound annual rate of return of
43.3 percent (over a seven year period).
An Extraordinary
General Meeting of Oxford BioMedica plc was held on 24 March,
where the proposed resolutions were all passed and the placing
and rights issue was approved by the majority of shareholders.
