OXFORD BIOMEDICA WINS TECHMARK AWARD

Oxford, UK - 29 November 2007:Oxford BioMedica (LSE: OXB), a leading gene therapy company, announced today that it has been presented with the techMARK 2007 Achievement of the Year award for its collaboration with sanofi-aventis. The techMARK Awards, organised by the London Stock Exchange, are designed to reward outstanding achievement in the technology market. Professor Alan Kingsman, Oxford BioMedica’s Chief Executive Officer, collected the award last night during the ceremony held at the InterContinental Hotel in London.

Oxford BioMedica announced its collaboration with sanofi-aventis in March 2007 for the global development and commercialisation of TroVax®, its novel immunotherapy, for the treatment and prevention of cancers. Under the terms of this agreement, sanofi-aventis will pay Oxford BioMedica up to €518 million if all development and registration targets are met for certain defined indications. Additional payments will be made if regulatory milestones are achieved in other cancer types. Oxford BioMedica is also entitled to escalating royalties on global sales of TroVax and to further undisclosed commercial milestones when net sales of TroVax reach certain levels.

Professor Kingsman commented: “The sanofi-aventis deal was a transformational event for Oxford BioMedica that provides both near and long-term value as well as clear endorsement of our most advanced product. I am honoured to receive this prestigious award. It is a testament to the achievement of the entire team at Oxford BioMedica.”

Oxford BioMedica (LSE: OXB) is a biopharmaceutical company specialising in the development and commercialisation of novel therapeutic vaccines and gene-based therapies with a focus on oncology and neurotherapy. The neurotherapy pipeline also includes preclinical gene-based therapeutics for vision loss, motor neuron disease and nerve repair.

The Company is underpinned by over 80 patent families, which represent one of the broadest patent estates in the field. The Company has a staff of approximately 80 split between its main facilities in Oxford and its wholly owned subsidiary, BioMedica Inc, in San Diego, California. Corporate partners include sanofi-aventis for TroVax and Wyeth for an anti-cancer targeted antibody therapy. The Company also has collaborations with Sigma-Aldrich, MolMed and Virxsys. Technology licensees include Biogen Idec, Merck & Co, GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer.
